Welcome to Microcavity Group!
Microcavities have attracted much attention as great confinement of light and enhancement of the interaction between light and matters. The whispering gallery micro-resonators, such as micro-sphere, micro-disk and micro-toroid have been extensively studied for cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). They offer a robust and scalable platform for quantum optics experiments, and potential candidate of future integrate circuit for quantum computation and quantum information processes.
The current research of our group is focusing on the strong coupling between whispering gallery micro-resonators and quantum dots, both experimentally and theoretically. And we also explore the interesting quantum and classical phenomena in the micro-cavities, for example the photon interference, the surface plasmas and nonlinear properties of micro-cavities, the thermal and mechanical dynamics of micro-cavities, the chaotic ray dynamics in deformed micro-cavities and the nonlinear optics in nano-scale micro-cavities.
